Daniel Madsen (37) is a trained industrial technician and has been part of AKEA for three years. He works at our CNC milling machines, producing precision components that later become part of our custom-built production lines.
For Daniel, the job is about more than machining. It’s about people, collaboration, and the feeling you get when you walk through the door in the morning.
A fresh start with a strong culture
Daniel describes his first period at AKEA as a “fresh breath of air.” From day one, colleagues were welcoming, helpful, and in good spirits. If an issue comes up, people don’t point fingers, they solve it together.
He also points out something that matters in daily work: the distance between leadership and the shop floor is short. Management isn’t “above” anyone, there’s mutual respect and a sense that everyone is pulling in the same direction.
The craft: complex parts are the fun parts
Daniel enjoys the variety of tasks, especially when the parts get complex. He likes being able to pick into different jobs and focus on challenging work that requires precision and a clear head.
Keeping grounded on busy days
When days get intense, Daniel’s approach is simple: talk to a colleague. Sparring is part of the culture, and it keeps pressure from becoming stress.
Another part of what makes the pace sustainable is trust. Daniel describes AKEA as a place with freedom under responsibility, and a balance between giving extra and getting support back. If the team puts in an extra effort, there’s flexibility when someone needs time off. And a good supervisor notice the work and says it out loud.
That combination, strong craftsmanship, helpful colleagues, and genuine trust, is what makes Daniel glad to go to work.
