If you walk into our assembly hall and see someone calmly coordinating a robot cell while chatting with a technician, you’ve met Nikolaj. He joined AKEA on 30 October and moved straight into the whirlwind that is custom machinery, exactly how he likes it.
From metalwork to project work
Nikolaj is a trained klejnsmed (Danish certified metalworker) with a background as a site manager. The common thread is practical leadership: learn the process, understand the constraints, and keep people moving in the same direction. He’s a believer in learning-by-doing and prefers showing to telling, especially when a project needs momentum.
How he works
- On the floor, not just in a plan: Nikolaj steps into builds to align details and earn “street credit” with the team.
- Service mindset: when a line needs attention on-site, he’s ready to travel and get progress back on track.
- Flow over fuss: clear scope, patient coordination, steady delivery.
What excites him at AKEA
- An atypical Topsil project where collaboration and new angles make the work extra rewarding.
- A coupling assignment with Blücher, precise, practical, and fun to build with the team.
Why AKEA fits
“The variety is the best part. You think your day is headed one way and then something new lands that’s even more interesting. It keeps you sharp, and it’s more fun.”
The person in the photo
Yes, that’s Nikolaj next to a robot cell. He likes being close to the action because that’s where decisions turn into real progress.
We’re glad to have him on board, and our customers will feel it too. When the brief says can do, Nikolaj is already halfway there.
